16984 Veillet (1999 AA25) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on January 15, 1999, by the OCA-DLR Asteroid Survey at Caussols. Naming notice (21 Sep 2002) Christian Veillet (b. 1954) was for several years head of the lunar-ranging station at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur. Now senior astronomer for the Canada-France- Hawaii Telescope, he is project scientist for the MegaPrime project.
